I spoke to David Harper’s Off Panel podcast about the Bobbinsverse, Giant Days, Bad Machinery and my forthcoming (hypothetical) writing gig on Homeland. It was a good one, I think!
Giant Days 18 is on shelves at comic book shops and on Comixology today. It’s the final issue of the ladies’ first year, sunset on those innocent carefree days. Join me, MAX SARIN (pencils), LIZ FLEMING (inks), WHITNEY COGAR (colours) and JIM CAMPBELL (letters) as they knock the old place down!
If you’ve not picked up Giant Days yet, what are you waiting for? The first eight issues are available in trade paperbacks now, and the next one is out next month. I’ve also got selected back issues (including the latest) to patch holes in your collection in my shop.
Out today is Civil War II: Choosing Sides #4 from Marvel, which features a 7-page story written by me and drawn by Rosi Kämpe. I was excited to be asked, as a big Marvel reader in my youth, as a fan of Louise Simonson’s writing run on the original Power Pack comics, and because the team hadn’t existed in regular Marvel continuity since their original 1980s series ended.
Before I started, I sent editor Wil Moss a couple of quick sketches of the remaining members of the group as I envisaged them…
…and at the end I was rewarded with a variant cover by one of my favourite art teams working anywhere today, Studio Gurihiru.
It was a thrill to work with Rosi and Wil. An A++ experience.
Giant Days 17 is out today (August 3rd), in your local comic shop or via Comixology (new issues usually go up at lunchtime). This issue is about archeology and despair. It also features a lot of the trademark witticisms and bon mots that you’ve come to love. Written by me, art by Max Sarin & Liz Fleming, colours by Whitney Cogar. Cover by Lissa Treiman.
If you’re looking for back issues, I have a few (including #17) in my UK store.
Subscribe and support my comics
As an experiment, I've added a page where you can subscribe to Bad Machinery. It's a chance to directly fund my comics once a year with a rolling subscription. Packages start at £2 or $3/year, but you can pay more if you want.
