The Tackleford Cormorant claims (and has always claimed) to be "Strictly Local Since 1972", but its history appears to reach backward of that point. This is because it had national aspirations (like, say, the Washington Post or the Manchester Guardian), but unlike those papers, was forced to retreat to its provincial hinterland after 1972. Don't ask me why. I'm not there yet.
